What Fabric Care Atlas collects, why, who else sees it, and how to make it stop.
Short version: this site runs display advertising and audience measurement. Both set cookies. You can refuse them, and refusing costs you nothing — every guide is readable either way.

We do not ask you to create an account, we do not run a newsletter, and we do not sell personal data to anyone.
3. Advertising and third-party cookies
This site displays advertising served by Google AdSense and its partners. You should know the following:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
- Where required by law, advertising cookies are only set after you consent through the banner on this site. Refusing means you will still see ads, but they will not be personalised.
4. Measurement
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which guides are used. It is loaded only after consent. IP addresses are truncated by Google before storage, and we have no access to any identifier that names you.
5. Cookies
A live, itemised list of every cookie actually set on this site — with its purpose and lifetime — is maintained on the cookie policy page and updated automatically when it changes. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time from the link in the site footer.
6. Where your data goes
Google is based in the United States and may process data outside the European Economic Area. These transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and, where applicable, the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. Our web hosting is in France.
7. How long we keep things
- Analytics data: 14 months maximum.
- Email correspondence: 3 years from the last exchange.
- Server logs: 12 months.
- Consent records: 12 months, as evidence that consent was given.
8. Your rights
If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you may ask for access to your data, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest. Where processing rests on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting what was lawful before.
If you are a California resident, you may ask what categories of personal information were collected and request deletion. We do not sell personal information as that term is defined by the CCPA.

9. Children
This site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
10. Changes
When this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes and the consent banner is shown again where the change affects what you agreed to.
